More details have been disclosed about Sean Garinger's tragic death.
Nearly five months after the 16 and Pregnant star died following an ATV accident in Boone, North Carolina, his official cause of death has been attributed to blunt force injury to the head, according to court documents from the medical examiner's office obtained by TMZ.
E! News has reached out to the medical examiner's office in Raleigh, North Carolina for additional comment but has not yet heard back.
Earlier this year, Sean's mother Mary Hobbs shared her son passed away at the age of 20 in late February after moving an ATV "from one parking spot to the next.”
"He pulled [in] front of me to park the ATV," she told The Sun March 1, "and the ground gave way from all the rain and mud."
Mary went on to share her last moments with her son, who appeared on the MTV show’s sixth season alongside his ex Selena Gutierrez and their two kids Dareli, 3, and Esmi, 23 months, as she waited for paramedics to arrive.
"I just laid next to him until the ambulance showed up," she continued. "There was a huge part of my heart that died with my son. He was my only son, my rock, my strength when I had none left."
Following his tragic passing, Sean's obituary noted he was someone "who touched lives all around the country."
"He never knew a stranger, regardless of age," his obituary read, "and was always willing to lend a helping hand. His kind and generous nature endeared him to all who knew him."
"Sean had a passion for living life to the fullest," it continued. "His adventurous spirit and love for excitement were evident in all aspects of his life."
